Position Summary...
The Senior Manager, Digital Strategy – Paid Social & Programmatic will be accountable for driving both omni and eCommerce marketing strategy through Paid Social and Programmatic, including Display, Online Video, Digital Audio, and other emerging channels. The role supports multiple programs, including Omni Marketing Programs that drive integrated brand and shopper strategies, and eCommerce Marketing Programs that accelerate growth on Walmart.ca.Additionally, this role will lead Paid Social and Programmatic strategy and execution for Walmart Connect campaigns, delivering full-funnel retail media solutions for advertisers, optimizing performance, and communicating impact to key stakeholders and clients.
The ideal candidate brings expertise in platforms like Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, DV360, YouTube, along with a deep understanding of media strategy, analytics, and digital marketing execution. A solid grasp of MarTech and AdTech infrastructure—including tagging, attribution, and privacy governance—is essential.
What you'll do...
- Lead Paid Social and Programmatic strategy and execution across multiple programs, ensuring optimal campaign performance across different platforms.
- Partner with Customer Marketing, eComm Marketing, Creative, Consumer Insights, Merchandising, Digital Experience, and Product teams to ensure Paid Social and Programmatic plans are integrated with broader business objectives and campaign roadmaps.
- Lead Walmart Connect campaign strategy, working closely with internal stakeholders and advertisers to deliver strong retail media plans, ensure flawless execution, measure performance, and report on results.
- Manage digital media budgets, including pacing and channel-level optimization to maximize media efficiency and drive results aligned with omni and eComm goals.
- Leverage advanced MarTech capabilities—including client-side and server-side tagging, CAPI, Appsflyer, GA4, Adobe Analytics, and Floodlight—ensuring accurate measurement, attribution, and campaign optimization.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and governance standards, including cookie deprecation and consent frameworks, and stay ahead of evolving platform policies and regulatory environments.
- Provide ongoing campaign reporting, actionable insights, and performance recommendations to drive growth and learning across programs.
- Report on campaign performance with actionable insights and strategic recommendations that drive continuous improvement and alignment with business priorities.
- Stay on top of industry trends, platform changes, audience innovation, and ad and creative formats to evolve media strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Digital, or Business-related field.
- 10+ years of digital marketing experience, with strong expertise in Paid Social and Programmatic strategy, campaign execution, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, Pinterest, YouTube, and DV360.
- Proven success developing full-funnel media plans that deliver measurable results across both brand and performance objectives.
- Strong understanding of tagging and analytics frameworks, including Adobe Analytics, Floodlight, Appsflyer, and looker.
- Deep familiarity with data privacy regulations, consent frameworks, and secure data usage practices in digital advertising.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex media plans into strategic, measurable insights for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Previous experience in a client-facing agency role, with a strong media sales background and a proven ability to consult with advertisers to drive performance.
- Skilled at managing agencies and internal teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Experience utilizing marketing technology to drive personalized and targeted experiences across touch points in digital paid channels.
- Business acumen: strategic thinking, business process development, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to prioritize workload, and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines.
- Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills, ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, with ability to obtain consensus among multiple stakeholders.
- Perseverance and persistence in dealing with challenges, and the ability to find creative, innovative solutions
- Strong teamwork orientation and proven leadership capabilities with an ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment, requiring ongoing. re-evaluation of priorities.
- Experience managing direct reports and external agency teams to deliver exceptional business results.
- Previous experience working in retail, grocery or similar fast-paced organizations.
