Position Summary...

This role supports the development and execution of product assortments and brand strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market trends, and customer needs to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

What you'll do...

Responsibilities:

This role ensures the strategic fit of brand sub-segments with the overall brand vision, optimizing product opportunities while balancing margin, quality, styling, and price. Responsibilities include developing category strategic plans through market analysis and trend assessment, and converting these plans into actionable items such as seasonal support documents and market research reports. The role may also involve designing and producing seasonal and special event lines, ensuring the assortment meets customer needs and aligns with the business vision.

This role collaborates with various teams to manage the product development process from end to end, including creating trend and product development direction packages for vendors. The role works to manage vendor development proposals, ensuring critical product requirements such as managing timelines and milestone, styling, quality, and value align with brand strategy and financial targets. Additionally, the role involves assessing program, market and vendor performance to identifying new product and vendor opportunities, while maintaining knowledge of Walmart US development for consideration to leverage global partnerships effectively.


Supporting internal design initiatives, this role ensures brand DNA, aesthetic, quality, and value align with customer needs and market leadership. The role monitors the quality of work from third-party packaging agencies, manage product specifications, fit approvals, quality benchmarks, and analytics. This role also involves understanding the competitive landscape, developing strategies to enhance market share, and collaborating with merchandising operations teams, Walmart US counterparts, vendors and Global Sourcing teams to achieve business objectives.

The role supports business solutions by building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying and driving business needs, and carrying out necessary processes. The role also demonstrates compliance with company policies, upholds company values, and adapts to organizational changes and new responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree/College Certificate or Diploma in Fashion or Merchandising

  • 6-8 years' related experience (Textile/Home Furnishings experience preferred)

  • Strong communication; verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to identify and interpret trends & execute at a commercial level

  • Design direction, creation, and evaluation capabilities as well as solving design issues

  • Working knowledge of product development process; factory production, timelines and approval process (Domestic and Import)

  • Adept knowledge of fabrics/materials, finishes and techniques

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Knowledge of packaging and quality testing standards

  • Able to travel on business as needed

  • Project Management and Private Brand development, as an asset

  • Market knowledge and ability to maintain an awareness of current design trends and influences

The pay range for this position is $74,000.00 - $101,750.00. Pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
