Position Summary...

Reporting to the Manager, Inbound Transportation, this role is responsible for the daily scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries of all Inbound Deliveries. This is inclusive of Walmart Freight Program (WFP), Direct to Store (DSD), Collect (COL) and LCV/DC Transfer deliveries to the Distribution Centers and stores on time in a safe and cost-effective manner.

What you'll do...

1.Monitor and measure the daily delivery schedule using the Walmart Transportation Management System as well as other tools and resouces to ensure On Time (OT) obligations are completed.
2.Create daily dispatch and inbound delivery schedules using the Walmart Transportation Management System (WTMS) for loads going to the DCs or to consolidation centres by assigning the appropriate carriers.
3.Effectively communicate with Transportation personnel and internal/external customers. Problem solving with Suppliers and Carriers, arranging Supplier pick-ups by contacting the carrier companies, and moving freight from Suppliers across Canada and the U.S to the distribution centers in a timely fashion at a reasonable cost.
4.Analyzes transportation planning opportunities to reduce transportation costs as well as executes various schedule reports and ad-hoc requests from stakeholders.
5.Liaise with Suppliers, Distribution Centers and Carriers for day-to-day inquiries as well as tracking and tracing orders.
6.Dispatch duties include and are not limited to RTV’s, Stock Transfers, SCC / TCW loads, HVDC / PDC loads, Cross Dock’s, Offsite Tendering, E Commerce etc. as required.
7.Cross trains and assists in other areas of the business when required, as well as being assigned other duties.
8.The position also requires confidentiality in dealing with client Walmart information and specific business operating policies and procedures of the company while also being responsible, at the personal level, for the overall Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Compliance of themself and co-workers.
